BALLOON FESTIVAL RETURNS TO ROBIN HILL (28th to 30th May 2022)

COURTESY NOTICE TO LOCALS AS BALLOON FESTIVAL RETURNS TO ROBIN HILL THIS WEEKEND

Report from Island Echo

This weekend the Official Isle of Wight Balloon Festival will ascend down to Robin Hill’s Lower Valley for an epic sell-out weekend of incredible entertainment, featuring international renowned, award-winning Night Glow performances.

The hot air balloon event returns with a fresh new look from 28th to 30th May, in partnership with industry specialists, Exclusive Ballooning.

Ahead of the weekend’s activities, Robin Hill would like to issue a courtesy notice to all local landowners and businesses that planned hot air balloon flights are expected between now and Monday (30th May 2022).

Due to the nature of balloon flight relying heavily on calm winds and stable air, flights are unlikely to take place outside of the following early morning and evening times: 06:00-17:00 / 18:30-20:00. The direction of flights will mirror the prevailing wind direction at launch time.

Balloon flights are operated and managed by qualified flight crews, all pilots are licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority, and carry a Certificate of Airworthiness and relevant insurance.

Flights will normally take place from Robin Hill creating a spectacular sight in the skies for everyone to enjoy; however, Islanders are reminded that the very experienced and capable pilots are entirely responsible for all aspects of their flight activity, including plotting appropriate landing sites and respectful retrieval of balloons upon landing.
