Island Roads Arreton Roadworks Bulletin No 7
29TH MAY 2015
Introduction
This is the seventh works bulletin for Arreton, in which we
try to keep you informed of the latest developments on site. We are pleased to
inform you that the weather continues to be kind to us
and there have been no delays during the past week.
By now we hope you have seen a noticeable improvement to the
carriageway surface throughout Arreton Village and Hale Common. We also hope you
agree the disruption and inconvenience that
you have experienced over the previous weeks have been worth
it given the improvements made.
Progress to Date
As explained in Bulletin No 6, works continue to progress
well and it is still anticipated to complete
the works mid-June. However as this can still be affected by
the weather and material production,
we will hopefully be in a position to give you a more
definite completion date in the next Bulletin this time next week.
Phase 5
As planned, phase 5 commenced on the evening of Saturday
23rd May 2015 and is due to complete on Monday 1st June 2015 at approximately
7pm.
Phase 6
Phase 6 is due to commence on the evening of Monday 1st June
2015 from 7pm and as explained earlier we will be sending out an update with
the expected completion date next week.
Phases
• Phase 1 - Arreton Cross – Adjacent to property ‘Sun Trap’.
• Phase 2 - Adjacent to property ‘Sun Trap’ to north side of
access to Cherry Wood View.
• Phase 3 - South side of Cherrywood View to north side of
Hazely Combe.
• Phase 4 - South side of Hazely Combe to Heasley Lane.
• Phase 5 – Heasley Lane to north side of Stickworth Lane.
• Phase 6 – South side of Stickworth Lane to Hale Common.
Footways
Works to resurface the footways have now commenced and are
progressing well. These works will
take place between Arreton Community Centre and Heasley Lane
and will take approximately 12 days, with the works being undertaken during the
day, Monday to Friday. These works will be phased so as not to conflict with
the current carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works so that pedestrian
access is maintained at all times throughout Arreton.
Bus
Service
As of
Sunday 24th May 2015, the shuttle bus servicing Arreton is now accessing
Arreton from Arreton Cross up to Hazely Combe and then back to Newport Bus
Station, on an hourly service.
How to
Contact Us
The best
way to contact us is through the Island Roads Hub (01983 822440 or
info@islandroads.com)
as this is operated 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. This method allows us
to
record any questions and deal with any issues as quickly as we can. As
mentioned above,
although
we will have personnel on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they may not be
aware of
any
wider issues and they will not be able to answer all enquiries. Alternatively,
Owen Ratcliffe at the Post Office is kept up to date with developments on an
almost daily basis and is more than happy to assist you if he can. If he can’t
help, then he can raise your concerns or questions with the site manager who he
is in regular contact with.
Thank
You
Island
Roads would like to take the opportunity to thank the residents and businesses
who have
been directly affected by these works for your ongoing
support and cooperation.
