The Isle of Wight Council in partnership with Keep Britain Tidy are looking to Clean up the Wight and get the island summer-ready and we’d love your help to do it!
What we are looking for:
- Volunteers to assist in council organised litter picks and beach cleans
- Suggestions of the best areas to target for littering picking
We will be providing equipment packages free of charge which will include:
Litter pickers, both black and clear bags to enable sorting of recycling and refuse, and a free collection of any waste produced.
Waste collection will need to be pre-arranged before the event with the Waste and Recycling Management Team.
We would like to kick start this programme from August 1st running throughout the summer holidays. A communications campaign hosted by the Isle of Wight Council, advertising all planned events to ensure that the uptake is as high as possible on social media and follow up with the Great British September Clean.
If you would be interested in taking part in this project, please send us an email with your contact details, along with your suggestions for locations to us as soon as possible.
