All Arreton, Godshill residents received a flyer from UKOG relating to a meeting being held on 16th December 2019.

TEXT FROM FLYER BELOW:

YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR ABOUT OUR PLANS FOR EXPLORATION DRILLING AT ARRETON & GODSHILL

UK Oil & Gas PLC (UKOG) will shortly be seeking planning permissions from Isle of Wight Council, as Minerals Planning Authority, for temporary three-year consents to construct two exploration oil and gas well sites, one near Arreton and the other near Godshill.

UKOG holds 95% of Petroleum Exploration and Development Licence 331, awarded by the Oil and Gas Authority. The licence grants UKOG the exclusive right to search for and produce petroleum within the licence boundary.

In order to access potential oil and gas resources, two surface locations are required, proposed by UKOG to be the Arreton and Godshill well sites, subject to all necessary regulatory approvals.
A number of preliminary environmental and other assessments have been completed by UKOG on these sites to confirm their suitability. For clarity, hydraulic fracturing (commonly known as “fracking") is NOT required and will NOT form part of this project.

UKOG is planning to hold an information event on Monday 16th December 2019 at Newclose County Cricket Ground, Blackwater Road, Newport P030 3BE. The event commences at 1pm and finishes at 8pm. Representatives of UKOG and key experts will be on hand to explain the project and answer any questions you may have.

On behalf of UKOG, I look forward to consulting with you, answering your questions and allaying any concerns you may have.

Yours sincerely,
Stephen Sanderson, Chief Executive
