At Cherrywood View junction.

Introduction
This is the fourth works bulletin for Arreton, where we will try and keep you informed of the
developments on site. Works are progressing well and weather permitting, we are hoping to
complete Phase 2 by the end of the day on Monday 11th May 2015 and commence Phase 3 on the
evening of Monday 11th May 2015. Please note the new phases below.

Phases
In order to improve access and allow us to complete the junctions which lead off Arreton Street with
the least disruption, we have reviewed the phasing of the work. These are as follows:
• Phase 1 - Arreton Cross – Adjacent to property ‘Sun Trap’.
• Phase 2 - Adjacent to property ‘Sun Trap’ to north side of access to Cherry Wood View.
• Phase 3 - South side of Cherrywood View to north side of Hazely Combe.
• Phase 4 - South side of Hazely Comb to north side Heasley Lane.
• Phase 5 – South side of Heasley Lane to north side of Stickworth Lane.
• Phase 6 – South side of Stickworth Lane to Hale Common.

Please note that this will not affect the programme of works and we are still on programme to
complete the works before the school summer holidays.

Junction resurfacing
We are pleased to inform you that we completed the junction of Cherrywood View during the
evening of Tuesday 5th May 2015. Overall things went well, however there were a few lessons learnt
for when we undertake the remaining junctions. The next junction will be Hazely Combe and as
before we will notify the resident at least 24 hours in advance, so that they can make the necessary
arrangements for their vehicles as there will be no access in to out of the cul-de-sac between 7pm
and 6am.

School Site Visit
On Thursday 30th April 2015, around 30 children from Coral reception class were shown what is
involved in rebuilding and resurfacing the road outside their school by Island Roads site agent, Keith
Sloane. The children’s teacher Mrs Herbert said “The children have been quite excited about all the activity outside and they were very keen to learn more about what was involved in the project. We thought there was a great opportunity to show them a construction project in action and Keith was really happy to arrange a visit to the site.”

Footways
We can confirm that it is still Island Roads intention to resurface the pavements through Arreton,
where it is required, and these works should commence in the next three weeks.
In addition, you may be aware that we have been replacing signs posts along the route already, with
a view of completing all of these by the end of the works.
