This is my photograph album from a visit to Osborne House on
29th March 2014. As Isle of Wight County Press competition winners,
we had a preview of the newly renovated Swiss Cottage, which was as yet not
open to the public. The Swiss Cottage (1853) was built in the grounds of Queen
Victoria and Prince Albert private estate Osborne House, which they used for
more than 50 years. Prince Albert intended the Swiss Cottage to be somewhere their
nine children could learn the rudiments of Housekeeping and Cooking. After
visit to Swiss Cottage we walked to Osborne Beach, then back up to Osborne
House to look around House then out on to the terrace. Due to the Royal
collection in the House, photographs are not allowed.
