The Isle of Wight Council (Merstone Lane, Godshill, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2023

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between 0930 hours and 1530 hours between Monday 03 April 2023 and Tuesday 04 April 2023, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Merstone Lane between its junctions with Newport Road and Newlands. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair works.   

The Isle of Wight Council (Cycle Track from Sandown to Newport, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians and Cyclists) Order No 4 2023

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between 0930 hours and 1530 hours between Wednesday 05 April 2023 and Thursday 06 April 2023, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any pedestrian or cyclist to proceed along Cycle Track from Sandown to Newport between its junctions with Merstone Lane and Arreton Street. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during footpath repair works.

Another one for the cycle track.

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between 0800 hours and 1600 hours between Tuesday 11 April 2023 and Thursday 13 April 2023, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any pedestrian or cyclist to proceed along Cycle Track from Sandown to Newport between its junctions with Blackwater Hollow and Arreton Bridleway 34. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during cycle track repair works.

This next one is probably better known as a footpath.

The Isle of Wight Council (Longdown Lane, Arreton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2023

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between 0800 hours and 1600 hours between Tuesday 11 April 2023 and Thursday 13 April 2023, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Longdown Lane for its entire length. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair works.

If you are unfamiliar with this last one, it is the lane up to the Church from the White Lion.  Whilst, not exactly a bustling highway, it may cause some problems with access to the pub car park and the Church. 

The Isle of Wight Council (Pump Lane, Arreton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2023

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between 0800 hours and 1600 hours between Wednesday 12 April 2023 and Friday 14 April 2023, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Pump Lane for its entire length. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair works.

Whilst I am here and still, on traffic issues, don’t forget that Insp. Gooding from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is making a return visit on Monday to give an update on speeding and other concerns.  This will be at the Community Hall as usual but the meeting will start at 7.30pm, after the Annual Parish Meeting which begins at 7pm.  You are more than welcome to both meetings.
