Notification – Cycle Track between Shide and Merstone
We are writing to inform you of the forthcoming cycle track maintenance works due to take place in your local area shortly and to provide you with some information and guidance about what will happen during the works to enable you to plan accordingly.
Island Roads will continue to follow operating procedures in order to comply with the Government’s guidance on social distancing as these essential highway improvement works are undertaken. Therefore, we request you respect the safety of all Island Roads workforce by keeping a safe distance from
both operatives and work sites.

Location of works: • Cycle Track – from 85 metres northwest to a point 95
metres southeast of Blackwater Hollow.
Estimated date of works: Starting Week Commencing Monday 20/02/23
Estimated duration of works: Approx. 10 days (Monday to Friday)
Time of works: • 07:30 - 18:00
Safety measures during works: Cycle Track Closure / At all times
2-way lights on Blackwater Hollow / 09:30 – 15:30
