It has been brought to my attention that there is some confusion over the Parish Council election this Thursday. There is indeed an election this year but as there were only seven candidates for eight seats, a ballot is unnecessary and everyone who stood is automatically elected.
We are not the only town or parish council to be in this situation, and it is not at all uncommon.
The list of candidates is on the notice boards and on the website and you will see that it will be a case of business as usual or carry on as you were before. However, there is still an election for the IW Council ward councillor (we are now part of the new Central Rural ward) and for the Police and Crime Commissioner.
