Sorry to have to begin 2021 with Covid news but, under the circumstances, it's hardly surprising. I have received the following information from the Community Resilience Project Manager at Community Action IW.
"The government have confirmed that Community pharmacies have been instructed to stand up medicine deliveries for clinically extremely vulnerable people in Tier 4 areas. Community pharmacies have a responsibility to ensure medicines are delivered to CEVs free of charge.
"However, the guidance states this is not the same as pharmacies being obligated to deliver medicines themselves. The contract obliges pharmacies to advise the patient of the potential for a local volunteer, seeking out avenues for family, friends or volunteers to deliver medicines on their behalf, before they deliver medicines themselves. Where there is no volunteer available, community pharmacies are obligated to ensure delivery of the prescription, which they may do themselves or via another pharmacy.
"Lastly, it has also been agreed the council’s coronavirus helpline hours will be increased to cover a 7-day period. From Saturday 2 January 2021 the helpline (01983 823600) will be open:
• Monday to Friday: 9am to 5pm
• Saturday: 10am to 3pm
• Sunday: 10am to 3pm”

Please be aware that I work part-time and therefore do not always respond immediately and that Cllr Dodson is a volunteer.
