The Battle of Britain Historical Society has placed a granite memorial to a 20-year-old Battle of Britain Pilot (One of the Few) Sgt John Keatinge Haire – 145 Squadron. (Hurricane V6627)

A ceremony will take place on 12 September whereby a Granite Memorial will be unveiled by her Majesty’s Deputy Lieutenant, Isle of Wight, Nicholas Oulton DL.
Subject to availability and weather on the day, a Spitfire and Hurricane will perform a flypast over the memorial. (Between 1.30pm to 2.30pm).
