Battle of Britain Historical Society has planning permission to erect a memorial to a Pilot in Arreton

While viewing the planning applications on the Isle of Councils website I notice this application.

The Battle of Britain Historical Society has had planning permission granted to erect a granite memorial to a 20 year old Battle of Britain Pilot (One of the Few) Sgt John Keatinge Haire – 145 Squadron. Who made the ultimate sacrifice at Heasley Farm on 6th November 1940.

Location of the memorial is to be on Bridleway A9 , Heasley Farm, Heasley Lane, Arreton, Newport, Isle Of Wight.

The Battle of Britain Historical Society has three years to erect the memorial before the planning permission runs out on 6th September 2021.

Let’s hope it gets erected, and even get a flypast by our local Spitfire on the day.
