30th December 2016 - Misty Morning Dog Walk around Arreton, IOW - Dog Poo in Countryside Rant

30th December 2016 - Misty Morning Dog Walk around Arreton, IOW
Well with no work tonight (Shift changed to next week), up early and time to take our #BrackensDogRescue Pippa out for a long walk on the frosty, misty morning around Arreton.

So off we set, and once into the fields she is jumping and dancing around like a “Ballerina” with the frost on her paws. Stop to take some photographs as we walk around of the Mist over the fields and village, such a wonderful sight as the sun starts to shine through, just a shame pictures only taken on my mobile phone! Do not take full DSR camera gear when walking Pippa as she sometimes can PULL!

The only thing that spoilt the walk is the old story of irresponsible dog owners who let their dog crap, and then don’t pick it up. Well I had article of my “Arreton Traveller, Isle of Wight Ramblings” printed in the #IsleOfWight #CountyPress about dog mess on the pavements around Arreton, which to the Arreton Parish Council credit they did put up more Dog Poo bins in village.

So this “Isle of Wight Ramblings” is to those careless Dog owners who think they do not need to pick up after their pet, just remember what a farmer told me. “The fields are our factory floor. Would you let someone come into your Office, Shop and crap on the floor?” So please pick up after your pet and place in bin or take home. Rant over....

Back to our walk, with distance sound of ships fog horns in the Solent and the bangs of the automatic scarecrows in the fields, Pippa is now jigging about again after brushing a leaf on the crops and the frost covers her. After about two hours on our walk she then has to stamp on the ice in a puddle to get a drink. This again sets her off on another bout of hopping about.

Three hours gone and time to get back home for a nice cup of Tea, at least this walk should have burned off the over eating at Christmas, Pippa should now have got over her three plates of Turkey....

Enjoy the photographs...now you know why we moved to Isle of Wight.
