Mist on Arreton Down

Some of the pictures take in the field that the local landowner is trying to get Planning Permission for 89 houses on.

This has been quite righty turned down by the Parish Council, he then come back with have the plan with 40 dwellings which are crammed together, with very little gardens and the look of the houses are out of character of the 1,000 year old village.
89 houses here ...No..No...No.
Organic growth to the village is supported, but this over development is nearly increasing the size of village by 50%. The latest on this over development is that the greedy landowner has now put in an objection to the Sectary of State. We hope that this governments’ promise that local people have their views taken into count are applied to this application.

There is soon to be another planning proposal from another developer, who has held one meeting at the community hall, and this development is for only 10 or 12 dwellings at the other end of village. This one has on its initial plan also has a community orchard in it, this is an ideal put forward by IOW Parish Councils to commemorate WW1. Along with this are three small units for shops etc, plus parking for teachers at local school. They have gone away to take in local views, and we await the plans for development.
10 to 12 houses here...
More agricultural land goes under concrete...
